Baptism (sometimes called Christening) is a joyful occasion and one which we greatly cherish at Holy Trinity. Whether bringing a child for baptism or being baptised ourselves, this involves making important promises of commitment to follow God and to be a part of his church family. Baptism services of children normally take place during once of our Morning Worship services at 10.45am.
As an alternative, we also offer a thanksgiving service in which parents can give thanks to God for the birth of a child and celebrate their new life. This service is similar to a baptism service, but does not require you to make promises to God or to join the church. Thanksgiving does not stop you having your child baptised at a later date. Some parents choose a thanksgiving service to let their child make their own decision to follow Jesus and be baptised when they are older.
